Artist Statement

My work explores themes of identity, gender, and memory.

Using the camera as a stage, I create images that merge candid and staged photography with elements of performance. By assuming multiple identities, I examine their relationship to myself, revealing personal and cultural layers embedded within them.

I’m a collector at heart. The “mass” is the visual language through which I intuitively observe the randomness of things in the world.

Through composition and aesthetics, I seek to formulate a structure or template within the randomness.

By the way they are arranged, the objects are infused with emotional, symbolic, and historical meaning.

The act and process of arranging an order, generates a visual dance between time, rhythm, weight, balance and suspension, opening a meditative space that often touches the spiritual and ritualistic.

My work is shaped by an inherent tension between two forces:

  • One is manifested in the choice of objects and the engagement with the organic connection to nature.·

  • The other is manifested in the visual photographic language, with the analytical emphasis on composition and aesthetics.

It is within this dynamic field that my images come to life.
