The engagement with the family archive reflects a search for order and logic through composition.

A range of techniques is employed: printing, cutting, painting, stitching, and perforation.

 

At its core, this is an impossible act of repairing the past — an attempt to propose an alternative visual narrative.

By deconstructing and reconstructing the image, while attempting to look at it with objective distance over time, I seek to re-examine the story that emerges from these photographs and the conflict embedded within them — to confront the degree of reconciliation I have with its sediment and memory.
